JONATHAN
VAAS
Jonathan
Vaas was the host of the 1999
National Spelling Bee Finals.
For the final round of the
spelling bee, the words were left
in his sole possession after
their preparation. That was also
the problem.
When it came time for the round,
Jonathan couldn't find the cards,
and instead of admitting his
screw-up he pretended he actually
had the cards. He then proceded
to make up any words he could
think of.
He didn't do too well at that and
was soon found out to be a fraud.
To get away he invented the very
first instance of the "Hey, look
over there" line while he snuck
away in the other
direction.
