Morning Show Host)
One of
the strangest characters for Will
Ferrell, to date, is the morning
show host. The whole sketch was
utterly disturbing while being
completely hilarious.
The
sketch started out like a regular
morning show called "Wake up
& Smile" with Will and Nancy
Walls as the nausiatingly perky
hosts with host David Alan Grier
playing the weatherman. All is
going well until the teleprompter
breaks down leaving them all to
improvise until it can be
fixed.
They
all are found to be extremely
talent less and begin to panic
without the assistance of their
precious script. Their sanity
degenerates as the morning show
cuts to commercial.
When
they come back from commercial
there are torches burning on the
set Walls is hysterical and
crying for someone to 'make the
words work.'
Grier cracks and attacks Ferrell.
The two fall behind the couch and
wrestle to the death. Ferrell
soon emerges with Griers bloody
head in his outstretched
hand.
Shouting,
"The weatherman is dead!"
Ferrell then proceeds to eat from
the neck wound with the fervor of
a jackal.
This
sketch ends up being a testimony
to the oddities that lie inside
of Ferrell's huge talent. It also
established the young cast as
bold and brash while helping them
to separate from previous casts
that were sometimes criticized as
tentative.
