Incredibly
annoying and intellectually
stupifying?
Most definately.
Cass
Van Rye (Cheri Oteri) and Tom
Wilkins (Will Ferrell) are the
hosts of "Morning Latte." Their
characters look to be
ficticiously based until you
notice their uncanny resemblance
to Mark Sommers & Kathy Lee
Gifford. It's eerie.
To
understand what's going on, here,
you have to realize that first
and foremost they are
out-of-touch geeks. They are the
kind of people who still give a
care about has-been celebrities
like Delta Burke and Markie
Post.
Cass even proclaimed that
"Spiceworld" was going to do
better than "A Hard Days
Night."
She also said that she enjoyed
"Good Will Hunting," even though
Robin Williams was 'off his game'
because he wasn't playing a
comedic role.
The
best part of the segment
invariably happens when their
sugary-sweet fawning gets to be
too much and one of the other
characters in the sketch blows up
at Cass and calls her a 'stupid
bitch.'
