SCHNEIDER
During
the 1998-99 season, Saturday
Night Live ran a series of spoofs
based on the popular VH-1
commercials that detailed a
moment in the life of popular
recording artists. They would be
short vignettes during commercial
breaks that would allow the
viewer into a more personal area
with the artists.
SNL
took this a s a perfect
opportunity to poke fun at the
spots and lesser-known
performers, or some that just
don't have a lot of clout
anymore.
Will
Ferrell played Fred Schneider,
leader signer of the B-52's. His
interpretation displayed Fred as
an eccentric goof who liked to
write songs and name them based
on strange word combinations.
During the spot he free formed
new songs on the spot and thought
each one was more hilarious than
the last.
The
names he came up with were:
"Balloon Foot Tiger Man"
"Egg Farm Hat Dog Swamp Fish
Eyes"
"Crazy Popsicle Tank"
"Glass Monkey Face"
"Uncle Dave's Bag of Fat"
"Nocturnal Emission"
"Hey! I Wanna' Touch Your
Pineapple!"
