CULP
From
the history of Bill Murray's
Lounge Singer and Jan Hooks'
& Nora Dunn's Sweeney Sisters
comes Marty & Bobbi, played
by Will Ferrell and Ana
Gasteyer.
They continue in the tradition of
entertainers who aren't exactly
ready for the big
time.
Marty
Kulp & Bobbi Mohan-Kulp play
small parties and functions and
sing popular songs (mostly from
the Eighties), but in their own
goofy way.
Marty plays the keyboard as their
only musical accompaniment while
singing the tenor and baritone
parts. Bobbi is much more
operatic and at times
bombastic.
Their
quirky delivery makes them
hilarious. They have so little
soul, yet include "Push It" and
"Pump Up the Jam" into their
medleys. We haven't laughed so
hard since we sang along with
"Clang, Clang, Clang Went the
Trolley."
